Topics included are based on the current NCEES Fundaments of
NSPS DIRECTOR
NSPS Director Nancy Almanzan reported that, the NSPS Governance Surveying (FS) exam specifications and recommended knowledge.

are elected. Currently, every member of NSPS is able to vote for Officers. The
proposal removes the vote from the membership and shifts the election to Presenters: Dane Courville, PLS and Knud Hermansen, PLS, PE, Ph.D.
the NSPS Board of Directors. NALS members have raised concern that this will
disenfranchise the membership. NALS sent a letter of opposition to the NSPS
Board of Directors and others voiced concerns as well. Ultimately, the NSPS
Board of Directors tabled the motion and no action was taken.
The full minutes of the NSPS meeting have not been distributed yet; as soon
as they are Nancy will provide a more detailed report of the meeting.
YOUNG SURVEYORS NETWORK (YSN)
Nick Montoya reported that the YSN is meeting in-person again. The YSN
participated in the GPS on Benchmarks project and held a BBQ while observing
a monument on April 9 . The second annual campout will be held July 29-31
st

and members will learn how to perform polaris and solar observations.
Heather Keenan reported that a joint California/Nevada YSN meeting was
held during the Conference and there was interest from Utah and Arizona on
development of YSN groups in their respective states.
FALL SEMINAR & NALS EDUCATION FOUNATION GOLF TOURNAMENT
The fall seminar will be held in conjunction with the NALS Education
Foundation Golf Tournament in Mesquite.
