The monument at corner IV, the northwest corner of the reservation, as found
We met with success again when Matt walked right to a post in a loose mound. It had the prominent cross on the top and visible scribing,
just as the first post had. It was situated about a mile southeast of the parade ground.

Encouraged by finding two monuments, we started toward corner III, a considerable pack from the nearest road. Again we met with suc-
cess, though this time we found a rock cairn instead of a post. We tied this monument, as well.
Satisfied that we found all the surviving monuments, we headed back to town. But when plotting up the found evidence, we saw that the
monument at corner IV was well out of position from the expected location. We plotted the called location from various directions, and
then also scaled its position from existing buildings. The wooden post we found was well off any of the possibilities, by several hundred
feet depending on which direction the point was plotted from.
