As many of you know the NGS’s GPS on Bench Marks campaign DECEMBER

year, but it will be a little different. It will be open to anyone, not
just PLS’s. Another change is everyone will be working on the
same map and the entries will be blindly judged against each other,
apples to apples, by the past presidents at our Past Presidents
Dinner in November. Keep an eye out for more information on the
mapping contest. See the attached events calendar for dates of
our upcoming meetings and social events.

NALS was approached by CSN, asking for help to get a bachelor’s
degree in Land Surveying up and running. Part of that help is
showing that there is a need for such a program in Southern
Nevada. NALS sent out an email to the principles of most/if
not all the surveying companies in Nevada asking for a letter of
support for a program that also expressed your company’s current
personnel needs to be sent to CSN. If you did not receive the email,
please reach out to anyone on the board and we will get it to you.
This is an amazing opportunity, and we need everyone’s support.
The SNALS board would like to encourage everyone in our
community to support the CST program through the NSPS. It
certainly has its flaws, but it is all we currently have to support our
staff who are may not pursue a degree. Trent Keenan is a proctor
here in Southern Nevada, if anyone on your staff would like to test,
please reach out to the board and we will get it set up.
