        Carl has dedicated an insurmountable amount of time, energy,
        and resources to the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors.   He
        advocates for the profession and association through his opin-
        ions, fortitude, enthusiasm, and commitment.

                                                                True North Award

                                                                As surveyors, we know where north is, right?   Most compasses
                                                                don’t actually point precisely toward the North Pole.  For true
                                                                north and magnetic north to come together at this point is a very
                                                                special occurrence.  In September 2019, for the first time in over
                                                                360 years, compasses at Greenwich pointed True North.
                       2022 Meritorious                         We are going to look at a different type of True North.  One that
                                                                is oriented by values, principles, leadership, and service.  It is an
