NALS Remembers —
Dale Wittie
Prepared by Frank B. Wittie, PLS
Sadly, we lost another
surveyor last December. Dale
Wittie, LSI (my older brother)
was a lifelong field surveyor.
He surveyed in a variety of
environments ranging from
small villages in Alaska to the
busy streets of Las Vegas.
Dale had aspirations of
getting licensed, but shortly
after being laid off during
the Great Recession he was
diagnosed with Huntington’s
Disease. He passed away at
54 years old after battling
Huntington’s Disease for the
last decade. I regret never
getting a chance to work with
him, but I loved talking shop with him over a couple beers and
will always remember our time together.
