Nevada Young Multi-State Collaboration
One of the most remarkable
aspects of the NV YSN camping
Surveyors — trip is its ability to bring together
surveyors from different states.
Summer Update Surveyors from Washington, Or-
egon, and Utah made the journey

Team-Building and Networking
Beyond the educational com-
ponent, the camping trip offers
invaluable opportunities for
team-building and networking.
Participants engage in activities
designed to foster camaraderie
and teamwork, essential skills for surveyors working in the field.
Bonding around the campfire, sharing stories, and forging lasting
friendships are all part of the experience.
Outdoor Adventure
Angel Lake and its surroundings
provide the perfect backdrop for
outdoor enthusiasts. Participants
enjoyed hikes that led them to
breathtaking views, fishing in the
crystal-clear waters, and camping
under the star-studded Nevada sky.

the growing exploration, education, and camaraderie tradition that
defines NYSN’s annual summer camping trips.
Building on Success
Year after year, the NV YSN camping trip draws more participants,
with the 2023 edition being one of the largest yet. What started
as a local event to foster connections among young surveyors has
evolved into an interstate gathering that celebrates the spirit of
networking and professional growth.
Education at Its Core
The heart of the NV YSN camping
trip lies in its commitment to edu-
cation. This year, the event “tried”
to feature workshops conducted
by experienced surveyors and
industry experts. However, the
topic of this year’s event did not
draw the participants’ enthusi-
asm. Our plan this year was to do
a full traverse using older 1990s
equipment, then match that data
to RTK and Static data; however,
the whole group was having too
much fun hiking and hanging out
by the fire playing cornhole to
worry about any Traverse setups!
Oh well, there is always next year!
We had a BLAST either way!
