me, so here I am SNALS President two years running. And
now Trent is living up to those words by taking over as SNALS
president in January, maybe he will go for two years as well. We
have a great board lined up for 2023, many of which are past
SNALS presidents.

Many of you may have visited the Tri State Monument for
Arizona, Nevada, and Utah and seen the beautiful monument
along with flags of each state and the US flag flying high.
Corbin Van Nest has been the unofficial grounds keeper of the
monument, personally paying for the upkeep of the flags. Jason
Higgins brought that to the board’s attention, and I am happy to
report that the NALS Board approved funds for the flags to be
changed out three times a year, hopefully Arizona and Utah will
follow suit.
Our September membership meeting was our Annual Agency
Surveyors meeting. It was our first dinner meeting in some
time and our first time at El Dorado Cantina. Unfortunately, that
restaurant is another one we won’t be going back to, like Brio
earlier this year, it was just too loud to hear the guest speakers.
Our guest speakers were Alan Riekki from the City of Las Vegas,
Gary Hancock from the City of North Las Vegas, and Michael Kidd
from the City of Henderson, unfortunately Dustin Crowther from
Clark County was not able to attend. All three speakers had great
stuff to say, unfortunately those who needed to hear it most
weren’t in attendance.
Please make sure to pay your dues and check the box for
your chapter. Our main correspondence goes out to SNALS
members. We are provided a list from NALS of all Southern
Chapter members, as members pay their chapter dues our list is
updated. If you have not been receiving our emails, it is probably
because you did not check that box when paying your dues. If
you have paid your chapter dues and still are not receiving our
correspondence, please get a hold of someone on the board to
get that straightened out. The board is here for you, if you have
any issues that you feel should be addressed, suggestions as to
venues, events, guest speakers, or any feedback please reach out
